Waking up in Warsaw

09 Jun

Welcome to Warsaw!

Couldn’t help but think a week from today there will be banners hanging from buildings  welcoming my mom and I to Warsaw! Wouldn’t that be great.  For Euro 2012… each match slot is expected to draw an average television audience of 150 million fans worldwide, which is a near-daily diet of ratings bigger  than the Super Bowl. That is one big welcoming committee. I have been reading and watching a lot of it online. It is amazing to travel in 2012 with all the technology at our fingertips. I downloaded “In your pocket” city guides to my iPhone, my mom has the same on her iPad, I have already figured out the best places to run on “Map my Run” in Krakow, Vilnius, and Kaunas.  It is all very exciting. I am finally starting to organize packing. My mom keeps saying, “remember it is cold there, it is not Arizona.”  Cold has  new definition.  The temperature in Lithuania in the summer are the same as Arizona in the winter (60’s and 70’s)  It will be my winter layered look but with white mixed in, lol.  I am going to try to post at least once a day to this blog.  If you would like this blog delivered to you by email, sign up on the right.

Beth, words can not express how excited I am for you both! I did connect with another cousin, Murray Liebowitz and we will be getting together in 2 weeks because of our opposing work schedules. He gave me Rose C’s phone number and said she was the repository of Weitz history. I will look forward to seeing your posts! God Bless you both!

You will really think I am crazy! I posted a wish for safe travel for you both and to let you know that I spoke with a cousin Murray this evening and that we are meeting in two weeks because of our work schedules and that he gave me Rose C’s phone number as the expert on Weitz family history. I used the wrong name in my first post so I sent the second so you would know it was from me. When the second posted, the first msg disappeared! Be safe and God bless you both.
